LeBron Message
Hey guys!!!
Man, my "kids" are getting big! Every time I see a photo of you guys I can hardly believe my eyes. I’m very proud of the way you’ve grown and matured. You are my leaders, and as our PROMISE states, the role models for my Wheels for Ed kids. That’s a very important job.
How has your summer been? I hope that you have stayed active and enjoyed time with your families. There’s nothing better in the world than spending time with the people you love. When you’re at home tonight, I want you to tell your parents and siblings what they mean to you and how much you love them. It might sound silly, but your words are powerful, and sometimes mom just needs to know she’s loved!
I had a rough start to the summer. I was upset after our loss to Golden State. I can’t lie… I moped around the house for a bit. I knew I couldn’t keep my PROMISE to you guys by being down. I’m not satisfied with the way our season ended, but I PROMISED you guys that I would be the best I can be on and off the court. So, that’s what I’m going to continue to do. I’m going to EARN the right to be your role model.
The next time you’re feeling sad or overwhelmed, remember that I’ve been there too. I’ve been down and I’ve been out, and you’re the one who helped pull me out of it. There’s no mountain that you can’t climb if you work hard enough. NO MOUNTAIN!!!
Now, I know it may be tough to sit in Training Camp while your friends are outside playing. You’re putting in the work to make yourself better, and I am so proud of you guys. In fact, I have to report to training camp in a few months. My teammates and I work hard, and it helps set us up for success throughout the year. You guys are doing the same thing!
You are my leaders now. I need you to set the right example for the younger Wheels for Education kids. Have a great week of Training Camp!
Your friend,
Mr. LeBron
