The St. Vincent – St. Mary vs. Archbishop Hoban rivalry game played out like an episode from Friday Night Lights. The Irish and the Knights played well into the cool Akron night, going blow for blow at The Univeristy of Akron’s InfoCision Stadium until the game was won by the Irish in the third overtime.
Unable to wear their alternate uniforms in last year’s rivalry game because the Irish were the away team, this year the Irish stormed InfoCision Stadium in their all-black, LeBron designed, Nike uniforms. "If you look good, you play good, and man, those kids look good," said LeBron when asked about last year’s all-encompassing uniform donation.
In total, LeBron and the Foundation donated brand new Nike uniforms to: band; cheerleading; Irish dance; men's cross country; women's cross country; football; men's golf; women's golf; men's soccer; women's soccer; men's tennis; women's tennis; women's volleyball; men's basketball; women's basketball; men's bowling; women's bowling; wrestling; baseball; softball; men's track and field, and women's track and field teams.
