23 Acts of Kindness and Giving
As hundreds of unsuspecting students from across the Toronto Public School District gathered in the auditorium of Earl Haig Secondary School, they had no clue of the surprise the LeBron James Family Foundation had in store for them. And then they heard his voice…
Every year in every All-Star host city, LeBron and his Foundation do something transformational to give back to the local community as a way of saying thank you to the city and its fans. In order to continue this legacy in Toronto, LJFF and its 330 Ambassadors surprised 23 teams and organizations from across the Toronto Public School district with brand new team uniforms. Unveiled in a lively fashion show featuring a live DJ, men’s and women’s teams selected by the school district including football, basketball, soccer, track & field, field hockey, wrestling, badminton, cricket, ultimate frisbee, rugby, and school clubs received uniforms as a reward for their exemplary sportsmanship and leadership.
With the school auditorium in Toronto filled with nonstop cheers and countless smiling faces, it was another PROMISE KEPT for LeBron and his Foundation – albeit the first on International soil. The All-Star uniform give is a continuation of LJFF’s efforts in Akron to encourage teams to be positive role models both on and off the playing field.
