In the summer of 2012, St. Vincent - St. Mary High School (STVM) held a special recognition assembly for recent Olympic Gold Medalist and NBA Champion, LeBron James. Although the assembly was meant to honor LeBron, in typical LeBron fashion, he kicked off the assembly by making a PROMISE to his school.
In front of a packed gymnasium, LeBron shocked the crowd and PROMISED that he was going to outfit every single STVM student athlete with brand new Nike uniforms.
On Monday March 10, after a stellar rendition of Miley Cyrus’s "Party in the USA" by the Foundation’s "LOB’s", the STVM spring athletes received their new Nike uniforms. Baseball, softball and men’s tennis all had athlete models step out in front of their peers and strut their stuff.
The final PROMISE Kept assembly was held at a movie theater. After seeing their uniforms, students were treated to a special screening of "The Blind Side."
