The Foundation Team spent some time this spring with the kids of Portage Path CLC and were greeted by two outgoing WFE students: Caiden and Lamonica, both are third graders who have earned all of their bands this school year. They have a lot in common: they both love broccoli; their favorite movies are Mr. Popper’s Penguins and The Smurfs 2; they take all of the same Akron After School enrichments which include Hip Hop, Weathervane, Run Like a Champ, City Rec and Tutoring; they both love school; their favorite part of Akron After School is City Rec; and they absolutely LOVE riding their bikes from Mr. LeBron.
But they do have their differences as well which makes them a good team! Caiden’s favorite subject is Math but she does like to read, especially mysteries and scary books as well as Diary of a Wimpy Kid. She has two sisters and wants to be a Lawyer when she grows up. She knows it’s going to take a lot of hard work like keeping up her good grades and continuing to be on the Honor Roll. It would seem she’s right on track having had perfect attendance every year in school. When not in school, Caiden loves running around on the playground, and in addition to being a Lawyer, she dreams of opening a nail shop with her sister.
Lamonica would say that her favorite subject in school is Reading, and she enjoys chapter books. She has four brothers and two sisters and loves to spend time with her family. Lamonica wants to be a basketball player when she is older and said that doing well in school and getting an education will get her there. She promises to be a good basketball player on the court and makes promises to her family as well. Outside of school, you can find Lamonica playing football with her brother.
So if you ever take a trip to Portage Path CLC, you’ll be greeted by two of the biggest smiles and hugs. Caiden and Lamonica are working hard, keeping their PROMISE and making Mr. LeBron proud!
